A. J. Wichita Elected
President of the
American Merchant Marine
Veterans
(AMMV)
In the mid 50s LTJG A. J. Wichita served on board
USS Whitehurst DE-634 as Engineering officer. He
had served in the Merchant Marine during WWII.
For several years Wichita has been very active in the
AMMV, planning and hosting reunions as well as
working to get the recognition so long overdue the
the Merchant Marine Veterans and pressing for
passage of the "Just Compensation Bills, HR23 and
S961.
